{Kids Clothes Week} Day 1

Yippeee KCW is here. I love sewing...no am addicted to sewing, so any excuse to sew is a good one.  I love how my hubby has accepted that this week I will be seemingly detached from the housework as I work on some wonderful clothes for our kids.

Day 1

Pattern: My new pattern that is in testing at this very moment. a RAGLAN TEE
Size: 6yrs (Brylie) 4yrs (Elijah) 12m (Portia)

Fabric: Lushious100% Merino from Levana Textiles in Levin, New Zealand.

This pattern has really been a delight to work with, I just love it when patterns and pattern tests go to plan (ir. no major changes needed and the pieces all fit together perfectly the first time)  This pattern I can forsee as being a staple in my kids wardrobe, it has 2 sleeve options, a short and a long, but a 3/4 sleeve would be easy to do as well.

Its feature difference is a curved side panel, which allows for play with fabrics and adds a bit of shaping to the look of the t-shirt.

For the girls I used the same fabrics but switched them around so they weren't too matchy matchy.

Elijah's was a super soft grey marle with funky stripes "I like my new t-shirt mummy"  High praise indeed from a nearly 4 year old boy.

The fabric is super soft 100% Merino wool, from a lovely textiles shop in Levin, New Zealand called Levana.  I have only been once, but I really want to go again, Oh how I wish I had an unlimited fabric budget!!!

The kids approved of the t-shirts, Brylie wanted to sleep in hers and Portia was walking around saying "t-yert" and looking very pleased with herself, so I think they are a winner.

We had such a fun photo shoot!
