One of my favourite pattern shops Peek-a-boo patterns is having a clothing swap. I decided that this time I would dive in and put my name down. I usually shy away from these types of things as they can put too much pressure on me if I have a deadline. but the deadline is ages away....and well...I've finished my items already.
Thankfully Amy from Peek-a-boo patterns was nice enough to pair me (and the fellow NZers) with others in NZ so we didn't have to pay overseas postage, which can be a killer!!!
I chose the very cute and comfy looking "hangout hoodie" for my swap item.
I was given a 3 year old girl and a 4 year old boy to sew for. I really hope that they like their tops. They are a nice soft knit with lovely accents and soft ribbing cuffs.
I really love how these have turned out. the hood binding was a little difficult at the square part in the front and isn't as neat as I would like it, but I just could not get it to lie straight.
I used a snap instead of a button being sewn through both layers. this allows for making the head hole bigger if needs be. Though I doubt it as it is a large loose style hood and neck.
I'm getting excited as to what I will receive in the post for my kids.
In other news, I released my BATWING top yesterday. A very cute little top that is super comfy and easy to sew up.
