Day 6 of the Kids Clothes Week has come to an end and I am very pleased to say that not only did I get my items made today, but I'm also getting the blog done today too.
Todays items were some pyjama pants for Brylie. I used a paper pattern that I have had for FOREVER, I dont even have the number any more. I made them longer though and did a size 6 for my 5 year old as I wanted them a bit baggy and poofy (kindof like bloomers).
The plain pink pair are the same size, but I had run out of 2cm elastic so I had to use 5cm, it makes the pants shorter but I think this waist will be super comfy, and they match with a little nighty (from the same pattern as below) but with little butterflies on it.
She has had this nighty since she was 4 - It wasn't so short on her then, I used the Racerback Dress by Prudent Baby. It makes a very cute nighty and I used my overlocker to make a cute little rolled hem. which is much easier than trying to hem knit WHAT A NIGHTMARE!!! And if you stretch your knit as you roll hem it, it developes this really awesome wriggle.
I added some elastic about 1 1/2 " up from the the hem which pulls it gently it in at the knee.
Brylie just thought they were awesome. And when off to bed happy with her new PJs.

Awesome pj's, getting into sewing knits with the over locker too - sooo much easier to get a good finish. Great stuff you made for KCW.
ReplyDeletethanks for your comment. I adore sewing with knit now, it is just so forgiving and with an overlocker SO QUICK And easy.
