{kids clothes week} Day 2

Here is my Day 2 of Kids Clothing Week.

Pattern: Cupcake top by Sewing mama Raemama
Size: 12m, with band instead of ruffles.
Fabric used: Organic cotton rib knit.

So I used this cute little top pattern for my day 2 of kids clothes week.  My wee Portia is 19 months but is wee so I decided that 12 months would be a good size to do....BUT it is a little big HUGE on her at the moment, but as we are in summer at the moment it should fit her great when we move into autumn and winter.

I think next time I will use a sturdier knit as this organic rib knit I used (beautiful as it is) stretches and doesn't bounce back as well as I would like, thus leading to wobbly hems where the ribbing is attached at the neck, cuffs and hemline.  Also next time I will make the neckline a little bit shorter too.

The pattern is REALLY easy to follow, the graph and size charts are very well set out and easy to read.  The tutorial itself is well written and the photo instructions are great.
I'm just sorry that the top doesn't fit Portia at the moment.  but I think also if I made one in this size with short sleeves it could make a real cute summer tunic/dress.
