I really love KCW as it enables me to justify sewing for my kids every day (which is what I do normally) But it stretches me beyond just making what they need and makes me try new things and experiement.
Day 3
Pattern: Bubble Capris (I heavily modified my sweet'n'sassy bubble shorts pattern)
Size: 12-18m (Portia)
Fabric: Wale Cord from Spotlight, cotton for the sash (from my stash), buttons from my button jar.
So today it has been raining so it has made it IMPOSSIBLE to get good photos of my pattern of the day.
I made some soft wale cord capris for Portia today. I used my sweet'n'sassy bubble shorts pattern but heavily modified it to take out the side panel, to make them longer, add a cuff with tab and button closure aswell as adding a paperbag waist with loops and a belt. So pretty much a completly new pattern. It is in my "to transform into a pattern" list so keep an eye out.
I think for tradtitional capris they are still a wee bit long, but Portia is a shorty so they would be capris on a "normal" sized child.
I really love the button tab cuff thingy at the bottom, it really adds a cute little touch, and even though my buttons dont match I think they are uber cute.
Joining in with KCW
Oh wow., those little pants are fantastic =) How clever to make them from the shorts pattern!
